My Career as a Book Reviewer Defending the Faith
By: Maurice A. Williams
What a clever way to write a book, using multiple book reviews as the subject. Kind of a Book born from many books. I have to say I enjoyed that idea, more than the book itself. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t that I disagreed with the Author of MCAABR Defending the Faith book, as much as I did some of the Authors of the books he reviewed.
The author definitely gives plenty objective opinions on different beliefs about God. Many religions, thoughts and opinions are presented and reviewed. “Cosmic War” is mentioned many times throughout the book, and the author attempts to put all the opinions of said war into an order. I use the word “order” there loosely, meaning there seems to still be a struggle to make a definite. So much is opinion by mankind today, and I feel it should be more about simply what IS. Not what could be, might be, this because of that, or whatever. It’s simply because…GOD. Nothing blew up, to form earth, God showed Himself. A God that is worthy of all adoration. Nobody to question, just trust. Trust comes and Faith walks in. Faith walks in and trust happens. Whatever way one wants to say it, it’s still the same. That is my opinion, but it has also become my belief over my 56 years on this earth. Simply God. He is the ruler, creator of All. All in All. No doubting, just…it is so.
I will say the writer does challenge the inquisitive reader, to dig a little deeper and seek out more Truth. For me, that’s simple. Truth is Jesus, God and the Bible is given by inspiration of man, but through the Holy Spirit that revealed it to man. It is the living word of God. It is real to the believer.
I do believe Fear, is what motivated a lot of the books that this Author reviewed. That is probably why I couldn’t wrap my mind around some of their thoughts, as I felt they were all over the place, and never really landed on solid ground.
This Author made his Faith clear to the reader and I appreciated that. He also managed to put a positive spin on the books reviewed, in order to come up with a logical explanation of his faith in God.
Again, I have to say, I was most impressed that the Author of Defending the Faith was able to put several book reviews together in a format, to come up with a book all its own. Nothing less than brilliant. Kudos to the author for that.
Enjoy!
